    Awesome experience. The highlight of our Coober Pedy trip. The tour guide is directly involved with the mine and was very detailed with his explanation of mining equipment and processes. We even got to try our luck at using a jack drill to mine for opal. Luckily we all pulled out decent souvenir chunks which will serve as a great reminder of our trip to Coober Pedy. Highly recommended.

    Wonderful tour explaining everything I wanted to learn about opals and mining. Included a live demonstration of various mechanical tools and machinery.

    Would highly recommend Tom's working opal mine if you're passing through Coober Pedy. We ended up spending most of an afternoon here. It was a great experience to see all of the equipment working and to have a go at using the divining rods. The kids loved it!

    We went for the mini tour as the full hour tour wasn't available (although it went over an hour anyway). Very interactive with the guided tour. Learnt a lot and got to keep some opals at the end of the tour.
